Smart View Provider Utility

Build and export SmartViewProviders.xml — the shared connections file for Oracle EPM Cloud Smart View for Office.

Prerequisites

Complete these steps before distributing the generated XML file to end users.

Install Smart View for Office — Ensure the latest version is installed on each user's machine.
Place the XML file at C:/Oracle/SmartView/bin/SmartViewProviders.xml on each machine.
Set the Shared Connections URL — In Smart View Options → Advanced, set the URL to the full local file path including the .xml extension.

Provider entries

One row per Smart View connection. Use a numeric prefix (e.g. 200 Planning) so the list sorts predictably in the Smart View panel.

Type maps to the XML Product id. Rows sharing the same type are grouped under one <Product> block in the output. Root element is res_GetProvisionedDataSources per Oracle spec.
